Who needs UNLIMITED Classes for the Life of Their Dog?
(or, "Why you should care about our Lifetime Support Guarantee")
You've been throughout our website, and you keep reading references to Time and Patience Dog Training's Lifetime Support Guarantee -- UNLIMITED classes for the life of your dog.* You may wonder, "why would I need to take classes for that long?" Here are a few reasons:
"Life" gets in the way sometimes.
You have to stay late at work, the kids get sick, the dog gets sick -- stuff happens. Other dog training schools clearly state that there are no make-up sessions for any missed classes. In other words, if Life gets in the way, too bad for you. Not at Time and Patience Dog Training. Miss a class? That's okay. Come to the next one. Come to the next 10. With our Lifetime Support Guarantee, your training investment is protected.
Your dog's needs WILL change as he or she learns, grows and develops.
You would never teach a five year old child the same way you would teach a 17 year old teenager. The same holds true for your dog -- what works for a puppy does not work for a 10 month old adolescent or a 2 year old reaching full adulthood. By having the freedom to repeat classes, you can get ongoing advice and practice that works for the stage your dog's brain is in, and get the support you need as your dog grows and changes.
YOU might need the extra practice and understanding.
Our Basic Companion course, with more than 30 different exercises, commands, and behaviours, is wildly informative, but can also seem a little overwhelming, especially the first time around. Raising a puppy is a little bit like putting out fires all the time -- you'll learn and pay attention to the things that are bothering you RIGHT NOW -- like chewing and housetraining -- and you may ignore the finer details of how to teach a dog to walk nicely on a loose leash or sit calmly at the front door. With our Lifetime Support Guarantee, you can come back at ANY time to review your skills, to focus your attention on other parts of your dog's training, or even just to help you clarify what you might have missed on that day you were really exhausted during class. Since YOU are going to be the one living with your dog, WE will be the ones to support you, every step of the way.
It's a regular "Date with your Dog" -- with extra practice under distraction.
Lots of people return to class week after week, because it's something fun to do with their dog. Regular classes create a special time you share together, a time all about the relationship you have with your pet. And since there is no substitute for practicing your dog training skills around other dogs, coming to classes lets you work on your commands under the distraction of people and doggy friends, both new and old. The trainer will give you helpful, personalized tips to get through any sticking points, so that you and your dog can continue to learn and improve.
Sometimes, bad things happen.
Sometimes, dogs have bad experiences. Getting attacked by another dog at the park. Being hit by a car -- not hard enough to leave lasting physical injuries, but enough to leave an emotional scar. Hearing fireworks, thunderstorms or other loud noises that leave them spooked. When unfortunate things occur, it's possible that what you have learned in training may not be the right thing to do, now that your dog is in a different frame of mind. Imagine the relief you'll feel at knowing you can come back to class at any time, and ask for help. We will be able to point you in the right direction, and support you while you practice and help your dog recover.
